What do you think this piano is worth? I'm trying to find out if it's worth more than the cost of moving it (which is likely to be $2000).
Since then I've had it regularly tuned and regulated. Hammers were replaced with Abels and I have the only one who has played on them. The action is original as are the ivories. The treble strings were replaced and the bass strings are original. I've paid no attention to the finish which is mahogany and could be refinished to look great but right now is dull, scratched and dinged up.
The tone is pure M&H and has been described as "like a grand". Although Mason & Hamlin says this model was discontinued in 1924, Larry Fine says it was made up until the 1990s. It is a Model D, 51 inches, the largest one they made. The serial number is 29086 which I have been told is 1922. I am upgrading to a grand and need to decide what to do with my Mason and Hamlin upright.
